Pursuant to Proclamation No. 1776, dated November 18, 2008, November 19 to 25 has been declared as the “Global Warming and Climate Change Consciousness Week.” The Proclamation aims to create awareness on global warming and climate change by pursuing broad and intensive public information and educational campaign to secure the collective cooperation of private and public sectors at all levels in finding solutions to this concern. The Proclamation calls on “all agencies, government offices and instrumentalities to collaborate in coordination with the private sector, and in liaison with the United Nations family, to conduct and participate in relevant activities.”

This year, the theme is “National Climate Change Consciousness Week: Creating Convergence on Climate Change.”  To highlight the event, the Climate Change Commission, together with government agencies, LGUs, the Leagues, NGOs, academic and private sector/business institutions, will launch exhibits, forums, a youth conference/workshop and an advocacy concert on November 21 to 23 at the 2nd floor, Function Rooms 1 & 2 of the SMX (beside the Mall of Asia).

Entrance is FREE to the general public, so come one, come all!
