Second National Convention

The Climate Change Commission organized the Second National Convention on Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction as a follow-through of the success of the First National Convention last 6 – 8 December 2017.

This convention served as a collaborative multi-stakeholder platform for knowledge exchange on climate change and disaster risk reduction policies, programs, innovation, best practices, and resources to pave the way for increased national and community resilience.  This activity formed part of the observance of the Global Warming and Climate Change Consciousness Week for 2018 with the theme: The 1.5╦ÜCelsius Climate Challenge: Survive and Thrive Together.

Around 400 representatives coming from Local Government Units, national government agencies, development partners, among others, attended the event.  The convention not only highlighted the spectrum of involvement of actors in climate issues but also weaves their ideas and actions into one tapestry of unified commitment.
