As the main monitoring, evaluation, and reporting support arm of the Commission, the IOD is tasked to:

• Monitor and evaluate climate actions of the government as well as ensure mainstreaming of climate change in the various national, local and sectoral plans including the National Climate Change Action Plan;
• Build capacities of the government on tagging, tracking and budgeting climate projects, activities, and projects;
• Assess and evaluate national and local climate-tagged budgets consistent with plans and priorities to address climate risks;
• Implement and monitor the Philippine Greenhouse Gas Inventory Management and Reporting System;
• Prepare various accomplishment reports for submission to various oversight agencies;
• Draft national reports to be communicated to the UNFCCC as part of our commitment to the Convention, Kyoto Protocol and the Paris Agreement; and
• Establish and implement a system to monitor climate actions.
