MANILA, Philippines – The Climate Change Commission (CCC) convenes high-level leaders and key stakeholders to advance climate action and strengthen resilience across the Philippines as the National Climate Resilience Forum (NCRF) 2026 gets underway today.

The forum brings together national government agencies (NGAs), local government units (LGUs), development partners, academe, civil society organizations, and the private sector to exchange best practices and identify concrete and scalable solutions that support a climate-resilient Philippines.

As one of the most climate-vulnerable countries in the world, the Philippines continues to face serious risks from extreme weather events, sea-level rise, food insecurity, water stress, and climate-induced displacement. These challenges highlight the urgent need for stronger preparedness, coordinated action, and effective resilience strategies at all levels.

Anchored on the theme “Bagong Bansang Matatag, Handa sa Pagbabago ng Klima,” the NCRF 2026 serves as a high-level national platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange, partnership-building, and action-oriented discussions. It focuses on strengthening alignment between national climate frameworks, including the National Adaptation Plan (NAP) 2023–2050 and the Nationally Determined Contribution Implementation Plan (NDCIP), and their implementation at the local level.

Underscoring the need for a whole-of-nation approach, CCC Vice Chairperson and Executive Director Robert E.A. Borje said, “At a time when climate risks continue to intensify, this forum underscores the importance of collective action—aligning efforts, mobilizing resources, and driving solutions that protect communities and secure our future.”

The forum highlights practical solutions, climate finance opportunities, resilience measurement systems, science- and data-driven planning tools, and sectoral adaptation strategies. Booth exhibits showcasing climate action initiatives from NGAs, non-government organizations, civil society organizations, the private sector, development partners, and other stakeholders complement the forum.

The NCRF 2026 is taking place today, July 23, 2026 (Thursday), at the SMX Convention Center Aura in Taguig City, with sessions beginning at 8:00 a.m. The event is also livestreamed for the public on the CCC’s official Facebook page.
