Philippine Environment Month 2020

May 31, 2020 Sunday

"It’s time to build back better for People and Planet"

The Philippines is one of the 17 mega-biodiverse countries of the world, together hosting two-thirds of the Earth’s biodiversity and between 70-80% of the world’s plant and animal species.
But the Philippines is also considered as one of the world’s biodiversity hotspots due to overexploitation, deforestation, land degradation, pollution, and other unsustainable human activities, all aggravated by climate change.

As we celebrate the Philippine Environment Month and World Environment Day this June 5, the Climate Change Commission urges everyone to initiate and support each other's efforts to live more sustainably within our households, offices, and communities. It's time for nature to heal and thrive again.
Let us continue protecting humanity’s delicate balance by working and building with nature around us. The hope and fate of the future generations rest on our actions today.
