Thank you for your interest in participating in the Climate Change Commission's Klima Film Festival (KFF). The KFF is being held in collaboration with the Oscar M. Lopez Center (OML Center) as part of its Balangay Project, which aims to chronicle the stories of the changing climate in the context of the Filipino experience and how it has shaped the Filipino identity and culture.

As one of the most vulnerable countries to the impacts of climate change, it is imperative to communicate the impacts of the changing climate, and the importance of adaptation and mitigation, to arrest the catastrophic effects of climate change. CCC looks forward to the perspectives and inputs of Filipino youth from all over the country in bringing their stories of climate change to the big screen.

General Eligibility Information:

1. Each team must be composed of members who are aged between 16 to 22 years old, maximum of ten (10) members only. A member who is aged 15 at the time of registration may still join as long as he/she will reach the age of 16 during the film festival. A team with members below 18 years old must submit a parental consent form.

2. All teams are required to attend the climate change seminar-workshop and participate in all climate film lab activities, which will be conducted online.

3. All entries must be in narrative fiction and adhere to the theme “Adapting for a Sustainable Future”. Entries should be originally made and adhere to the MTRCB Rated-G classification on movies.

6. Entries may be in any (Philippine) language, but must have English or Filipino subtitles.

7. The entries can be shot and edited using any device provided that the resolution should be at least 1080p.

8. The running time of each entry should be between five (5) and seven (7) minutes only, including the title cards and the credits.

5. Entries should be originally made. Any use of material (footage, music, etc.) not originally produced or owned by the team must have secured permissions from original copyright owners. This shall be the sole responsibility of the team.
     
6. The running time of each entry should be between five (5) and seven (7) minutes only, including the title cards and the credits.

7. Actors and actresses are considered part of the team and must also be within the prescribed age range.

8. Intellectual property rights to the final entry and other derivative works (collectively called WORKS) produced as a requirement of the Festival shall be co-owned by the creators with CCC and OMLC. Intellectual property rights on all raw materials developed and produced by any of the aforementioned in producing the WORKS shall be the property of whoever initiated it. These WORKS shall be used only for information, education, and communication (IECs), research and other non-commercial public service purposes. Any other use shall require prior approval of all owners of the WORKS. All uses of the WORKS must credit the owners.

1. Each participating team shall be required to submit a film concept/synopsis after attending the climate change seminar-workshop. The submitted synopsis are not deemed final and may be edited throughout the production process.

2. Once all climate film lab activities are completed, teams must ready their films for final submission. Submission shall include: the short film, a 30- second trailer, an editable file of its official poster (18’ x 24’), and behind- the-scenes footage.

3. All entries must be submitted to [email protected] with the subject format, “KFF Entry | Team ID Number”. Deadline of submission of entries will be until 11:59 PM of October 31, 2020
