Mobilizing Climate Finance
The Climate Change Commission (CCC), together with other national government agencies (NGAs), development partners and civil society organizations, is pushing for the institution of innovative climate financing for local government units (LGUs).
In an event titled “Mobilizing Innovative Climate Financing for Philippine Local Government” organized by the CCC, U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Catholic Relief Services (CRS), the Department of Finance (DOF), and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) SHIELD Project, stakeholders explored new funding models and creative approaches to support climate-related projects in the country.
World Wetlands Day
Wetlands are a secret weapon in the race against climate change! CCC joined Del Carmen, Surigao del Norte in celebrating #WorldWetlandsDay and their efforts to have their mangrove forests designated as a Wetland of International Importance under the Ramsar Convention. Mangroves represent vital 'blue carbon' ecosystems that sequester more atmospheric carbon than tropical forests and serve as buffers against storms and sea level rise, making them critical natural climate solutions!
Annual CCET Orientation for Budget Call FY2025 series
In a concerted effort to strengthen the systematic incorporation of climate considerations within the government's budget, the Climate Change Commission (CCC) and the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) convened various National Government Instrumentalities (NGIs) for the Annual Climate Change Expenditure Tagging (CCET) Orientation.

SLL-CDRR Launch
The Climate Change Commission (CCC), in collaboration with Senate President Pro Tempore Loren Legarda, and the Asian Institute of Management (AIM), launched the Sustainable Leadership Learning for Climate and Disaster Risk Reduction (SLL-CDRR) scholarship program. This initiative aims to produce 18 climate and disaster resilience leaders within the government who are equipped with the skills necessary for competent leadership in disaster risk and crisis management, specializing in climate and disaster resilience.
